Manga, Nightbaron and apparently M-H|TheMessiah are back up and running. Null|Pandaman and Null|Maruko are still unavailable while being rebuilt. There has been no loss of files for Manga and Nightbaron.

Aaaand that's a wrap.
http://tinyurl.com/yc483a8Subbing a drama was a fun experience, but no more...time to move on to bigger and better things.
The LIAR GAME film will air 3/6 in Japan, and will conclude the story. It features the GARDEN OF EDEN Game, which I believe will actually be the "musical chairs" game, the current arc being published in the manga at this time.
All right guys, it's been fun.
Best wishes & see you around.

As protected mentioned before, the server got wiped so our projects are down as well. I've uploaded a fair deal of manga back to the servers, but I'm still sifting and sorting and getting things up. Most smaller projects are back. Naming may be a little different and I will go through and fix all of those as I can.
Larger projects are being dealt with in a quasi-alphabetical order depending on how much shifting and repacking I need to do.
Some projects will not be restored. These are projects that for whatever reasons, we dropped after only finishing one or two chapters. Things like Hibiki no Mahou, To Love Ru, etc. I will probably hold back on restoring Magi Pico Girl till we finally get our road block covered and I can re-release ch1 with the majority or possibly the entire vol1. I'll keep you posted when everything is back in order, but it will take me a while longer.

Well, nothing like a good downtime to make null the center of much speculation. But who cares about that...if you haven't seen already, ep8's up in the usual spot:
http://tinyurl.com/yc483a8And this week is the last ep! Yar! Brace yerselves!

Invalid or useless accounts were once again purged as they had been last year (unfortunately after our latest backup). The results are here:
Deleted users. I'm afraid the purge was a bit harsher this time, because of our little problem making the script think no one logged in to the site in the past 5 months, but still, if you had a valid account that was removed, just recreate it or ask us to restore it.

Hi, everyone! If you're wondering what happened to us these past few days, well, you're probably suspecting it by now (and especially after glancing at our website): The hard drive of our supposedly recent server died in an extremely sudden but final manner. We are now restoring from backup.
Certain parts of our website are not working yet and data from September to December 2009 is all gone. Yes, those months never happened. They were erased from history. Let's forget all about them.
...Ok, we will be posting a digest of events later and re-adding the missing releases and images. Direct downloads and our in-house bots are still down, but there are bots you can use on IRC. The Java IRC client is down. Hang in there!

After about five years, I'm retiring from my duties as null administrator, including distro and release management, recruitment and training, as well as active webmaster duties and certain FTP and server management duties, effective immediately.
I'll still be around, but you no longer have to suffer my abrasive and arrogant personality (rejoice!). As part of this change, *all* IP range bans that were active in our server were removed and the individuals responsible for them can be considered effectively pardoned. Hopefully my replacement will be more tolerant and this kind of thing won't be necessary so often.
My reasons for retiring:
Unlike kikiboudka, you may be surprised to know it has nothing to do with leechers. You may hate me, but I don't hate you. I sometimes ban one of you because I am disappointed at the way you act despite all the effort we put on this thing. If leechers could make me retire, I would have done so long ago ;) By the way, thank you all very much for the supportive comments and e-mails we have been receiving since kiki retired, they mean a lot to us.
My life isn't "too" busy either. I try very hard not to let life get in the way of my free time, no matter how small it may become. I want to live a life, not some sort of permanent impending death by boredom.
However, I do feel a certain lack of support, moral and otherwise, from certain other null members. Simply put, I am tired of pulling this cart. I need a rest. I want to give a chance to the young blood. I want to sit back in my chair while they work their asses off and chuckle quietly to myself as I watch.
If I hadn't joined Null back then, it might be somewhere else entirely by now. It might even no longer exist (cue in jokes about our famous slogan :P). It is undeniable that Null, as it is, was heavily shaped by my work (among that of several others) as an administrator. Let us see where my successors can take it. I will be watching and ready to lend them a hand :)
Long live Null!

Magic Kaito is dropped: This must come as no surprise to anyone. We were never able to find an editor who wanted to finish this project after aznricekid got addicted to World of Warcraft and left us. shirmpy may want to release the scripts he translated on MangaHelpers later (something which he can of course do, with our blessing).
Ubel Blatt is dropped: Disappearing translators are something we can cope with, but when on top of that the actual group that asked us to help with the project (BLAH) and which was in charge of editing seems to be all but gone, and left us waiting for many weeks for the next chapter(s), and other groups are already way ahead, and no one in our group is really interested anymore (if they ever were), then you know it's time to let it go ;)
Unfortunately, another, higher profile Null project may also be dropped in the near future; You will learn all about it when the time comes.
On the other hand, a bunch of projects will be finished soon/this year, and hopefully there will be new projects of the usual kind to replace them, as well as new paths Null wants to explore. Please keep following us as we do our best to bring foreign comics to an english-reading audience in the coming years :)
